Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the funding for the McConnell Foundation go?

100% of our fundraising for the McConnell Foundation (nonprofit) goes to Dr. Kraveka’s pediatric cancer research that is conducted at The Medical University of South Carolina.

Why is it important to fundraise for pediatric cancer?

Most chemotherapy treatment options for children today were founded in the 1950's. TMF provides funding for better treatments and advancement in treatments.

Has there been any recent progress in Dr. Kraveka's research?

Yes! Dr. Kraveka and her team conducted research behind a new neuroblastoma drug which is now FDA approved!! DFMO took 14 years to get FDA approval!

“Neuroblastoma is one of the most aggressive pediatric tumors that we see. It’s one of the most common solid tumors we see but also has one of the worst prognoses. About half of the children who are diagnosed with this tumor have high-risk neuroblastoma, and survival is only about 50%"
